В Петербурге по подозрению в превышении должностных полномочий с причинением тяжких последствий задержали главу КГИОП Сергея Макарова. Делом занимается СК РФ. Сотрудники комитета отмечают, что Макаров в настоящее время сотрудничает со следствием.
Специалисты полагают, что в КГИОП могли менять годы постройки, так как возведенные после 1917 года здания не охраняются законом. Следователи обратили внимание на деятельность комитета после обращения местных депутатов.
По факту сноса были возбуждены уголовные дела. Среди наиболее громких оказалось связанное с уничтожением флигелей особняка Салтыковой. На их месте планировали возвести гостиницу. После произошедшего глава СК РФ Александр Бастрыкин лично приехал в Петербург и вызвал к себе ответственного за проект Виктора Тырышкина. Его связывают с губернатором Александром Бегловым.
СК также обратил внимание на Дом Лапина. Власти разрешили снести его. В Следственном комитете уверены, что КГИОП подделал документы для того, чтобы в последствии эту территорию могли использовать девелоперы. Противоречивым можно назвать и разрешение на строительство в пределах Пулковской обсерватории. Делать это запрещено, но суды разрешали девелоперам вносить изменения в постройки.
Такая обстановка может указывать на существование строительного лобби. СМИ сообщали, что представители власти в Смольном могли выносить решения в пользу застройщиков. Такие махинации сказываются на архитектурном облике Северной столицы не лучшим образом.
